Hepatitis A vaccination is recommended for all travelers. Get the vaccination before you go to this country.
Mosquitoes
There are illnesses in this country that you can get from mosquitoes, for example zika virus, chikungunya and dengue (break-bone fever). Protect yourself well against mosquito bites during the day (between sunrise and sunset). See also the leaflet ' Muggenwering op reis ' (available in Dutch).
Rabies
Mammals in this country may have rabies. Avoid any contact with mammals. Before you travel to this country, ask an expert (doctor/nurse) at a travel vaccination centre if you need a vaccination against rabies.
Schistosomiasis
You can get schistosomiasis in this country if you have contact with surface water. Do not go near fresh surface water.

Chikungunya

Dengue

Yellow fever
Due to the risk of yellow fever, vaccination is recommended. Yellow fever vaccination is mandatory if you are coming from a country where yellow fever occurs. This vaccination requirement also applies if you have a layover of more than 12 hours in a country where yellow fever is present. The vaccination must be administered at least 10 days before arrival.
Hepatitis B
