Vaccinations Bangladesh

For Bangladesh, LCR recommends DTP, Yellow fever, Hepatitis A, Measles, Mosquitoes, Rabies, among others.

General advice

  • DTP

    DTP vaccination is recommended for all travelers. Get the vaccination against DTP before you go to this country.

  • Yellow fever

    There is no risk of yellow fever in this country. However, if you come from a country where there is a risk of yellow fever, the vaccination is compulsory. Even if you had a layover in a country where yellow fever occurs. The vaccination must be given at least ten days prior to arrival. Ask an expert (doctor/nurse) at a travel vaccination centre if you need a vaccination.

  • Hepatitis A

    Hepatitis A vaccination is recommended for all travelers. Get the vaccination before you go to this country.

  • Measles

    There is a higher risk that you will get measles in this country. Were you born after 1965, and have you never had measles? And have you never had a vaccination against measles? Get a vaccination against measles. Also vaccinate your children if they are older than 6 months and if they have not yet been vaccinated against Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR, or in Dutch: ‘BMR’) as part of the National Immunisation Programme .

  • Mosquitoes

    There are illnesses in this country that you can get from mosquitoes, for example zika virus, chikungunya and dengue (break-bone fever). Protect yourself well against mosquito bites during the day (between sunrise and sunset). See also the leaflet ' Muggenwering op reis ' (available in Dutch).

  • Rabies

    Mammals in this country may have rabies. Avoid any contact with mammals. Before you travel to this country, ask an expert (doctor/nurse) at a travel vaccination centre if you need a vaccination against rabies.

  • Typhoid

    Typhoid vaccination is recommended if you will be in this country for more than 2 weeks. Get advice from an expert (doctor/nurse) at a travel vaccination centre.

  • Chikungunya

    In this country, chikungunya occurs. Whether you need a vaccination against chikungunya depends on the individual. Consult a n expert (doctor/nurse) at a travel vaccination centre.

  • Dengue

    You may get dengue (break-bone fever) in this country. Vaccination is recommended for some people before they go to this country. Get advice from an expert (doctor/nurse) at a travel vaccination centre.

  • Hepatitis B

    Some people need to get a vaccination against hepatitis B before they go to this country. Get advice from an expert (doctor/nurse) at a travel vaccination centre.

  • Japanese encephalitis

    You may get Japanese encephalitis in this country. Some people need to get a vaccination against Japanese encephalitis before they go to this country. Get advice from an expert (doctor/nurse) at a travel vaccination centre.

  • Tuberculosis

    There is a higher risk that you will get tuberculosis in this country. Get advice from an expert (doctor/nurse) at a travel vaccination centre. They will tell you if you need a vaccination against tuberculosis or if you should have a test to see if you are infected. The advice is different for different people.

  • Malaria

    There is malaria in some areas. Protect yourself against mosquito bites from sunset to sunrise. See also the leaflet ' Muggenwering op reis ' (available in Dutch). Sometimes you will also need to take tablets to prevent malaria. Different people need to take different tablets. Get advice from an expert (doctor/nurse) at a travel vaccination centre.
