Yellow fever
There is no risk of yellow fever in this country. However, if you come from a country where there is a risk of yellow fever, the vaccination is compulsory . Even if you had a layover for more than 12 hours in a country where yellow fever occurs. The vaccination must be given at least ten days prior to arrival. Ask an expert (doctor/nurse) at a travel vaccination centre if you need a vaccination.
Mosquitoes
There are illnesses in this country that you can get from mosquitoes, for example zika virus, chikungunya and dengue (break-bone fever). Protect yourself well against mosquito bites during the day (between sunrise and sunset). See also the leaflet ' Muggenwering op reis ' (available in Dutch).

Japanese encephalitis
