Measles
There is a higher risk that you will get measles in this country. Were you born after 1965, and have you never had measles? And have you never had a vaccination against measles? Get a vaccination against measles. Also vaccinate your children if they are older than 6 months and if they have not yet been vaccinated against Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR, or in Dutch: ‘BMR’) as part of the National Immunisation Programme .

Tick-borne encephalitis
You may get tick-borne encephalitis in this country. Some people need to get a vaccination against tick-borne encephalitis before they go to this country. Get advice from an expert (doctor/nurse) at a travel vaccination centre.
